The Platinum American Eagle coin is produced by the United States Mint. It was first produced in 1997, and is currently available in sizes, including 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz and 1/2 oz.
The front of the coin features a portrait of the Statue of Liberty, with the words 'In God We Trust' inscribed to her right. Behind her crown is the word 'Liberty'.
The reverse of the coin features an Eagle in full flight, with the sun rising behind him. The words 'United States of America', with the fineness, weight and metal are inscribed on the back, along with the face value.
Each 1 Oz Platinum American Eagle coin has a face value of $100 USD.
The American Eagle coin is also available from the US mint in gold and silver.
